There have been reports of the Loch Ness for more than 1000 years, but in 1972 experts believed that they had at last captured the monster.

A team of zoologists, who were working on a project to search for the monster, found the carcass of a huge animal in the loch.  The body weighed about 508 kg and five meters long.  The experts packed the giant carcass in ice, loaded it into a van then headed for England to announce their news to the world.

However, news travels fast.  Local Scots felt that the monster of Loch Ness should stay in Scotland.  They alerted the police and the order went out to all police cars, ‘Nessie must not leave Scotland-she belongs to us.’ Roadblocks were set up.
