For jobs etc…:

I'm a dentist.

Would you like to be a teacher?

Beethoven was a composer.

Are you a student.

My office is on the first floor.

The sky is blue and the sun is shining. 

(play) the piano / the guitar. (musical instruments).

  I listen to the radio a lot.

We do not use the with:

Television: I watch television a lot.

Breakfast / lunch / dinner: Lunch is ready!
