In that school,       On the table,         During his weekend,

Sentence / Phrase

It is important to understand the difference between a sentence and a phrase.

A sentence is a group of words which make complete sense.

The old man sat down.              He switched on the radio.

A phrase is a group of words which by them selves do not make complete sense.

After dark     At last        For nearly an hour

A phrase can be used as part of a word group that does make complete sense.
