Introduction : Tag in general is something small tied loosely to a larger object, e.g.: the label tied to a suitcase is a tag. Example: Please , read the tag at the top of the box.
Question _ tag : In grammar question – tag is used to describe the little question phrase we attach to a statement to change it into a rhetorical question, that is one asks for the sake of effect or to impress people , e.g. He is tall , isn’t he ?
In the example given above isn’t he? Is the question – tag? You can now study the following examples carefully in order to give you a deeper understanding on how to deal with the question – tags. - You are well, aren’t you? - He isn’t good, is he? - We have made our task, haven’t we? - You haven’t eaten the apple, have you? - They speak Italian fluently, don’t they? - She doesn’t look well, does she? - He arrived late at night, didn’t he? - He didn’t come last summer, did he?
