1) The present continuous tense indicates continuing action, something going on now.

For example :

- He is sleeping .

- Rami is acting like his father.

 

2) The present continuous tense is used to describe something happening now or for a limited time in the future.

For example :

- Lama is working today.
- Jamal
is learning French this year.

- He is coming to dinner on Sunday .

 

3)We make the present continuous tense with verb to (BE) [am , is , are ]+ [verb+ing] .

For example :

- I am eat-ing.

- Birds are fly-ing.

- She is danc-ing.

 

  - "Continuous Verbs", contains most English verbs. These verbs are usually physical actions which you can see somebody doing. These verbs can be used in all tenses.

For example :

- Where are you ? I'm sitting in the sofa .

- They are climbing the hill .

- He is preparing for his trip next week.
