The present continuous tense is used to describe an expected or unexpected event that happens frequently and uses the adverb always.

- The teacher is always shouting at his class.
- It
is always snowing in winter.

 

The present continuous tense is used to describe a temporary event or situation .

- He usually plays the drums, but he's playing bass guitar tonight.

- The weather forecast was good, but it's raining at the moment.

 

The present continuous tense is used with 'always, forever, constantly', to  describe and emphasise a continuing series of repeated actions,

- It is always snowing in winter.

- You're forever complaining about your mother-in-law!
